Did you just handover your security deposit? Ideally you will get it back, but in some cases renters lose their deposit. Here is how you can get your security deposit returned.

1. The Lease Agreement: read it over very carefully before signing it and understand the terms and conditions. Get to know the rules and follow them.

2. Take Pictures: before you move in, take pictures of any flaws and damages you see. Be sure to document it as well and give a copy to your property to manager.

3. Leave it Clean: this is very important! Give your apartment a good, deep cleaning prior to moving out. Don’t forget to clean the refrigerator, microwave and oven.
