The holidays are a busy time of the year, between parties, shopping and work, it is hard to find time to decorate.  Add costs and concerns about where to store Christmas decorations probably has you feeling a bit bah humbugish, but we have five simple holiday decorating ideas that use items you already have and don’t cost an arm and a leg.

Apothecary jars make the perfect vessel for holiday decorating.  Use some that you already have or purchase some at your local arts and crafts or dollar store, next add candy canes, holiday candy and bows for a colorful and decorative accent to your counter top, a shelf or table.

This next ideas is easy and affordable.  Head down to your local garden center or Home Depot (or Lowes) and pick up an aromatic herb tree.  Some already come decorated or add some small ornaments and your apartment will begin to feel a lot like Christmas in no time.

Search around your home for a vases or other containers.  Add some pine branches and decorate them for a quick seasonal accent piece.

This holiday decorating idea uses wine glasses Christmas balls and candles.  These make a perfect centerpiece for your table. Add strung lights over your patio door or along the wall for a beautiful, unique and affordable Christmas decoration.

Paper whites are a beautiful way to decorate for the holidays.  Purchase bulbs and plant them in mason jars or purchase Paper Whites in full bloom at your local florist, garden or home shop.
