The San Fernando area of Southern California is rich in history and has a number of Spanish Missions that tell the story of Spain’s efforts to colonize and expand Christianity among Native Americans.
Mission San Fernando Rey de Espana is one of those missions. Established in 1797 this mission served as an outpost. Today you can see relics and learn about Mission life. The museum includes gardens and a replica of the original church on the mission that once included over 121,000 acres.
Visit the museum at 15151 San Fernando Mission Boulevard in Mission Hills. They are open 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm.
